EXHAUST FAN FIRE ONE OF FOUR CALLS TUESDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

  

The Brenham Fire Department was called out four times on Tuesday.

Around 7:45 a.m., units were dispatched to Stanpac USA, 801 Mangrum Street, for a fire alarm.  Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building, and it was determined that a forklift driver accidentally hit the sprinkler pipe.  Maintenance workers were repairing the sprinkler line.

The department was called back out to Stanpac for another fire alarm shortly after 12:15 p.m.  The alarm company was on location repairing the alarm.

Just shy of 2 p.m., BFD personnel received a report of a structure fire at a home in the 200 block of Old Navasota Road.  Nothing was found from the outside of the home.  Firefighters learned that the exhaust fan caught fire above the stove, causing a smell inside the home.  The department turned the breaker off and returned to service. 

At 2:45 p.m., units responded to a home in the 1500 block of Plymouth Lane for a smoke detector going off.  They arrived to find a bad smoke detector and replaced it before clearing the call.
