WASHINGTON COUNTY LADIES LIONS PRESENT SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARDS

The Washington County Ladies Lions have announced the club’s top end of year award winners.

Marita Mikeska and Vicki Wehmeyer were named as Co-Lions of the Year.

Outgoing President Linda Kocian stated these two members displayed great service for the club in hosting the District 2-S5 Mid-Winter conference in January.

They also participated in various other service projects during the year. Both ladies were presented with a Lions statue, a lapel pin and flowers.

The Rookie of the year is Wanda McMahon.  According to the Ladies Lions, she has been actively involved in service projects, meetings, and fundraisers since becoming a WCLL member. They added that McMahon has set a prime example for new member participation.

The club was honored to have the Lions Past International Director Joe Al Picone of Brenham to present Certificates of Appreciation to five members. 

Lions Club International Immediate Past President A. P. Singh awarded these Certificates, the fourth highest awarded in organization to:

Thresia Schlabach, Linda Oberhoff, Vicki Wehmeyer, Marita Mikeska and Linda Kocian.
