BRENHAM ISD LOOKING TO SET THE BUDGET AND TAX RATE AT THEIR NEXT MEETING
The Brenham School Board will be holding a public hearing on Monday night regarding the 2026-2027 proposed school district budget, and 2026 tax rate.
At the last board meeting on August 3rd, it was revealed that the board is looking at a budget of nearly $64.4 million.
The tax rate is projected to be 74.9 cents per $100 valuation. This would be made up of 66.9 cents for Maintenance and Operations, and eight cents for Interest and Sinking.
Following the public hearing, school board members will meet in regular session to decide on whether or not to adopt the proposed budget and tax rate.
Also at Monday’s meeting, the Brenham School Board is going to be presented with monetary donations to the district from the Run for the Youth of Washington County, and Viridien in partnership with the Brenham ISD Education Foundation.
Other items include the possible approval of the district’s property and casualty insurance carrier, a STAAR presentation, an annual review of district’s employee handbook, and a review of the student handbook.
The meeting closes with an executive session to consult with their attorney regarding a TEA safety and security audit.
