CUB GOLF TEAM OPENS SEASON IN COLLEGE STATION
The Brenham Cub Golf Team played in their fall opener on Monday. The Cubs took part in the Tiger Classic at Pebble Creek Country Club in College Station.
It was a 27-hole Tournament, which featured 18 holes for Round One, and nine holes for Round Two.
The host team, A&M Consolidated, was the overall winner with a score of 429. They shot a 282 for round one, and a 147 for round two.
The Cubs finished in seventh place with a team score of 466. They shot a 312 for round one and a 154 for round two.
The overall individual winner was Anthony Butt, a junior from the Woodlands. He shot a 65 in the first round and a 35 in the second round for a combined score of 100.
Holton Gillentine, who is a junior, led Brenham. He tied for ninth overall by shooting a 73 in round one, and a 36 in round two, which was good for a combined score of 109.
Luke Alford, who is also a junior, finished in a tie for 12th place. He had a 73 in the first round, and a 37 in the second round, which was good for a combined score of 110.
Also participating for the Cubs, were sophomores Max Felder, Joaquin Terry, and Jb Schaer. Felder finished with a 124, Terry finished with a 125, and Schaer had a 128.
