CUBETTE VOLLEYBALL ENDS FIRST HALF OF DISTRICT WITH A WIN OVER LUFKIN

The Brenham Cubette Volleyball Team wrapped up the first half of a District 17-5A play with a road win over the Lufkin Lady Panthers on Tuesday night.

Lufkin won the first two sets 25-23 and 25-17.

With their backs against the wall, the Cubettes rallied and won the final three sets 25-17, 25-22, and 15-12 to take the match 3-2.

Hannah Bush had a big night with 23 kills, 13 digs, and six aces. Maggie Thibodeaux finished with 11 kills.

Reese Warmke dished out 24 assists and also had six aces in the match. Claire Huff chipped in with 18 assists and 10 digs.

Logan Hayslip led the defense with 19 digs.

The win improves Brenham to 14-19 overall and 3-4 in district.

The Cubettes finish the first half of district in fifth place, two games behind Montgomery and College Station, who are tied for third.

Brenham will start the second half of district this Friday when they travel to A&M Consolidated for a 5pm match.
