BELLVILLE CITY COUNCIL APPROVES G.I.S. MAP
The Bellville City Council has approved funds for a project to put all local utilities on one on-line map.
The council approved just over $10,000 for the set-up and installation of a Geographic Information System.
Some of the information, however, will not be available to the public, due to Homeland Security laws.
Four Hills Mapping will provide the service.
The city will provide $4,800 annually for maintenance and software update costs.
City council member Wayne Browning was the lone dissenting vote--citing the annual cost of maintaining the GIS.
