PURSUIT IN FAYETTE CO. ENDS IN ARREST OF TWO

Fayette and Lee County agencies were involved in the pursuit of a stolen vehicle Wednesday afternoon.
Around 6 p.m., Fayette County dispatchers received a call from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, in reference to a stolen vehicle being chased by officers from the Giddings Police Department. The vehicle was described as a white 2017 Ford F-150 truck.
Deputies from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, DPS, and Constable Precinct 2 responded to assist Giddings and Lee County authorities.
Deputies successfully deployed a set of spikes at Highway 159 near Cotton Wood Road, northeast of La Grange. Two suspects were taken into custody: 20-year-old Deyon Ray Ball-Thomas of Beaumont, and 24-year-old Jerome Anthony Ward of Galveston.

Ward, the driver, was charged with Evading Arrest, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Carry of a Weapon by a Felon, and Possession of Marijuana. Ball-Thomas was charged solely with Possession of Marijuana. Both were taken to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
