TRAFFIC BEING DIVERTED AFTER ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAY 21 AT FM 50
Update @ 11:45 a.m.: DPS Sergeant Jimmy Morgan reports the scene of the accident has been cleared. The driver of the Nissan passenger car only sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the 18-wheeler was not reported to have any injuries.
Original Story @ 9:16 a.m.: Crews are at the scene of an accident on Highway 21, headed towards Bryan.
The accident occurred shortly before 8 a.m. this (Wednesday) morning near the intersection of FM 50 and Highway 21, close to the Brazos River.
According to DPS Sergeant Jimmy Morgan, an 18-wheeler was turning west onto Highway 21 from FM 50, when it pulled into the path of an eastbound Nissan passenger car. The car went underneath the 18-wheeler, and was reportedly pinned.
Sgt. Morgan said no serious injuries have been reported, and that fog is a factor in the crash.
Eastbound lanes on Highway 21 are currently backed up as a result of the wreck, and traffic is being diverted.
