(Brazos Co. Jail)

29-year-old Rufus Edward Lockett was indicted Thursday in connection to the deadly December 16th shooting of 54-year-old Anita Jean Randle.

Police say Randle, a clerk at the Valero Corner Store on Rock Prairie Road in College Station, was shot multiple times after she was unable to provide Lockett money during the course of a robbery.

Lockett is also accused of shooting a convenience store worker in Bryan, two weeks prior to the shooting in College Station.  Authorities say on December 3rd, Lockett shot the clerk working at the Apple Stop store on East Villa Maria Road.

The victim survived, but suffered major damage to several organs.  Lockett was charged with Aggravated Robbery and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon for that offense.
