MAN ARRESTED ON NUMEROUS CHARGES AFTER ACCIDENT SATURDAY

A Bellville man faces multiple charges after his arrest after an accident, Saturday afternoon.
Shortly after 3:00 p.m., police were called an accident in the 500 block of East Main Street, near downtown Brenham.
According to police, 46-year old Robert Mercer of Bellville, fled the scene, then tried to flee police. He was eventually arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail.
Mercer is charged with: Failure to Control Speed; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Leaving the Scene of an Accident; Driving While Intoxicated; and Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle.

My wife witnessed this accident and the way he behaved. This guy was very dangerous to other motorists and to society as a whole. I hope they do not plea bargin this guy and let him off with some type of light sentence. He needs to be taught a lesson before he hurts someone badly.
Hope she gave a statement. If not, have her call PD and do so. More evidence can only help the case.
