BRYAN MAN ARRESTED FOR INTOXICATION ASSAULT AFTER FOUR HOSPITALIZED IN ACCIDENT

  

Bryan police have arrested a man, following a Sunday morning crash that took four people to the hospital.

27-year-old Joel Olvera Sr. was charged with Intoxication Assault with a Vehicle Causing Serious Bodily Injury.

Early Sunday morning, around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to an accident in the 2700 block of Osborn Lane, near the intersection with Braeswood Drive.

According to police reports, the car driven by Olvera lost control, spinning multiple times before hitting a light pole.  The car suffered major damage, and four passengers were hospitalized with serious injuries.  According to reports, Olvera failed field sobriety tests.

Olvera was booked into the Brazos County jail Sunday night on $8,000 bond.  Intoxication Assault Causing Serious Bodily is a third-degree felony, punishable by up to $10,000 in fines and up to ten years in prison.
