YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM SATURDAY AT ST. PETER’S IN BRENHAM

This weekend, a church in Brenham will be hosting a program for adults to learn about youth mental challenges.

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church will hold a Youth Mental Health First Aid training event tomorrow (Saturday).  The program will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the church, located at 2310 Airline Drive.

Participants will learn the risk factors and warning signs of a variety of mental health challenges common among adolescents ages 12-18.  The curriculum, designed by the National Council of Behavioral Health, has been successfully provided to almost 200,000 people across the nation in recent years.

The program is free and open to the public, and is catered to adults that interact regularly with youths.  Those include clergy, youth group leaders, teachers, school staff, coaches, law enforcement, social workers, health care providers, and parents.  Space is limited to 30 people.

Lunch and snacks will be provided, and CEUs will be available.  To learn more, or to register, email deacon@stpetersbrenham.org.
