TxDOT BEGINNING PAVING OPERATIONS MONDAY ON US 77
Starting today (Monday), drivers will need to be mindful of lane closures on US 77 in Lee County, as TxDOT is beginning paving operations on the highway.
Initially, TxDOT will perform full depth repair work throughout the limits of the project, from the Fayette-Lee County line to nearly 5.5 miles north of the county line, south of Giddings. Once the full depth asphalt repairs are done, TxDOT will place a new hot mix surface on the entire roadway before adding the new shoulders.
Drivers on US 77 should expect daily lane closures from approximately 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in various directions during the paving operations. Message boards and traffic signs will guide users through the work zones.
According to TxDOT’s website, the project is contracted to Larry Young Paving, Inc. for $7.5 million.
Anyone with questions should contact TxDOT’s office at 512-321-2195.
