BURTON CITY COUNCIL TO APPOINT MAYOR PRO-TEM, MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE, REVISIT LAWN MAINTENANCE ORDINANCE
The Burton City Council will consider appointing a mayor pro-tem and municipal court judge at its meeting Tuesday.
Currently, councilmember Jeff Eckhardt is serving as the mayor pro-tem, while City Secretary Angela Harrington is serving as municipal judge.
The council will then reopen discussion once again on a lawn maintenance ordinance, which has been tabled the last three times it has been discussed. Talks on the ordinance, which encourages lawn maintenance for the cutting of grass that becomes a nuisance, were tabled in March to allow councilmembers to consider putting in a fine for violators.
Also in session, the council will consider a resolution authorizing the mayor to sign and execute a division order regarding Hielscher 1H with GeoSouthern Operating II, LLC. According to Harrington, the city is being offered a decimal interest, and a resolution authorizing the mayor to execute the division order is required. The council will then act on accepting the audit of seizure funds as required by the code of criminal procedure.
The council will meet Tuesday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. at Burton City Hall. Public participation is limited to conference call, due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns and limited space for social distancing at Burton City Hall.
