BRENHAM ISD INTERIM SUPERINTENDENT TO GIVE UPDATE THURSDAY ON PLANS FOR NEW SCHOOL YEAR
The public is invited to tune in to an online stream with Brenham ISD Interim Superintendent Huey Kinchen tomorrow (Thursday) evening, as he gives details and information about the new school year.
Kinchen will give an address at 7:30 p.m. on the Brenham ISD Facebook page, where he will provide families, caregivers, and staff information on the school district’s reopening plan. He will also ask the Brenham ISD community to fill out a reopening survey that is scheduled to be sent out this week.
Last week, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) released guidelines for students’ return to classrooms this fall. The guidelines give school districts a three-week period to phase in the return to on-campus instruction, but several school districts have already asked the state to extend that timeframe.
Governor Greg Abbott told ABC13 in Houston Tuesday that TEA Commissioner Mike Morath is expected to make an announcement in the next few days allowing school districts to extend the period of time for online learning at the start of the school year.
