CUBS ROLL PAST ELGIN, 59-7 IN HOMECOMING THRASHING
The Brenham Cubs responded to their first district loss last week in commandeering fashion, as they rolled over Elgin, 59-7 in the 2020 Homecoming Game.
The Cubs (5-3/5-1) made an early statement, as Stephen Stackhouse hit Brandon Ward with a 42-yard touchdown pass on the team’s first offensive play from scrimmage.
From there, eight different Cubs scored touchdowns en route to the blowout win.

Brenham got two touchdowns from running back J’Sin Lopez and one each from: Stackhouse, Javon Dixon, Keaunu Jones and Trenton Gilbert.
Kaden Watts provided the most electrifying play of the game, a 63-yard punt return for a score.

Brant Bender added a 22-yard field goal and six extra points. Things were going so well for the Cubs, that on a bad snap on an extra point, holder Ronnie Gibson was able to find Trey Lawhun for a 2-point conversion.
Next up for the Cubs will be the regular season finale at Cedar Creek, next Friday in Bastrop. Kickoff is set for 7:00, with a 6:30 pre-game on AM-1280 KWHI, FM 101.7 and www.kwhi.com.
