Blinn earns 10th conference win

 

BOSSIER CITY, La. — The No. 24 Blinn College women’s basketball team downed Bossier Parish Community College, 78-53, on the road Friday.

With the win, the Buccaneers improved their overall record to 14-5 and conference record to 10-3.

“I am proud of our effort tonight on the road,” head coach Jeff Jenkins said. “We need to start limiting turnovers and easy baskets before the regional tournament.”

Keaundra Eddings and Telisha Brown each put up 17 points to lead the offense, while Hailey Atwood followed with 16. Chynell Mitchell recorded nine points and Deja Adrian scored five.

On defense, Atwood, Mitchell, and Adrian each recorded eight rebounds to lead Blinn, while Brown contributed six.

The Buccaneers opened the game with an 18-15 lead and extended it to 37-20 at halftime. Blinn built its lead to 59-35 in the third quarter and added 19 points in the fourth for the 25-point win.

Next, the Buccaneers will host Bossier Parish on Monday, March 29, at 4 p.m. in the Kruse Center.
