SCHULENBURG FESTIVAL OPENS THURSDAY

The National Party of Texas returns to Schulenburg this weekend.

The 43rd Annual Schulenburg Festival gets underway tonight (Thursday) through Sunday at Wolters Park, featuring a full slate of music, rodeo action, a carnival, barbecue and chili cook-offs, sporting tournaments and a Grand Festival Parade on Sunday.

Nicole Michalke, treasurer for the festival, says after COVID-19 forced last year’s event to be cancelled, organizers are excited to bring the party back to town.

Entertainment begins tonight with local band Southbound 955, continuing tomorrow (Friday) with Pauline Reese, Little Texas and Kolby Cooper.

Saturday’s lineup features the Texas Sundown Band, Tracy and Resendis, the Texas Unlimited Band (TUB) and Shane Smith and the Saints.  The festival wraps up on Sunday with The Telstars and another performance from TUB.

All admission will be purchased at the gate.
