BURTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING RESCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 21

  

Update @ 6:02 a.m. Monday:  The Burton City Council has rescheduled its meeting slated for tomorrow (Tuesday).  The meeting has been moved to next Tuesday, September 21st.

 

Original Story @ 10:38 a.m. Saturday: Action on the 2022 property tax rate is on the agenda for Monday’s meeting of the Burton City Council.

After the council reviews monthly reports, they are scheduled to consider and propose a property tax rate for coming fiscal year.  They will then set a public hearing for 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 28.

The council is also expected to discuss potentially adding Real and Personal Property Loss Due to Crime insurance onto the employee insurance policy. The council tabled action on the matter last month.

The council is also expected to:

Approve payment for $2,300 for annual FastCourt municipal court software subscription.

Approve the closure of a portion of North Railroad Street, Oct. 30th for the annual Burton Trick or Treat Trail.

Change the Burton Municipal Court to an inactive status and accept the resignation of Angela Harrington as the Burton Municipal Judge effective Oct. 1st.

The Burton City Council meets Tuesday at City Hall at 5:30 p.m.
