Superintendent Dr. Stu Musick submitted the board for consideration, and they were chosen out of the 57 other school districts in Region 6.
In a statement posted on their Facebook page, the district said, “We are proud of our School Board and appreciate their work and effort for the students, staff, and community of Navasota ISD.
The Board Officers are President Tim J. Harris, Vice President Trish Harris, and Secretary Amy Jarvis.
Other members of the board are Valerie Jefferson, Jennifer Ramirez, Greg Mock, and Paul Malek.
Navasota was one of 13 regional winners throughout the state. They now go before the TASA Awards Committee, who will meet later this month to select up to five boards as Honor Boards.
The finalists will then be interviewed on September 23 at the TASA Convention in San Antonio. The State of Texas 2022 Outstanding School Board of the Year is going to be announced on September 24.
