Arch-Con Corporation took out an $8 million permit for construction of an Academy Sports + Outdoors at 1041 Nolan Street.  The Academy is part of the 51-acre Market Square development located between Market Street and Highway 290 that includes both residential and commercial properties.

Other projects that are expected to come to Market Square are Chick-Fil-A, Wendy’s, Hawthorn Suites and LaQuinta.  There is also the Villas at Market Square, a 170-unit multi-family development, and the Brenham Trails, a 49-unit apartment complex for seniors 55 and older.

Twelve new homes were permitted in November for $2,618,756.  So far this year, 178 new homes have been permitted for $30,856,488.

A total of 33 permits were taken out in November for $12,086,147.  In comparison to November 2021, 47 permits were issued for $11,438,280.

Through the month of November, the city has issued 414 permits for $65,364,096.  That outpaces the 398 permits through last November, but last year’s permit value to date was $88,811,157.
