FORMER BELLVILLE STANDOUT BEING INDUCTED INTO SMU HALL OF FAME

Emmanuel Sanders (Denver Broncos)

Former Bellville Brahma Wide Receiver Emmanuel Sanders is being inducted into the SMU Hall of Fame. The ceremony is taking place on September 15 at the Armstrong Field House.Sanders played his college football at SMU from 2006-2009.  In those four years with the Mustangs, he had 285 catches for 3,791 yards, and 34 touchdowns.

He went on to a 12-year NFL career that included four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, five and half years with the Denver Broncos, and brief stints with the 49ers, Saints, and Bills.

Other inductees include, Michele Hain Pappas, who was on the Women’s Swimming and Diving Team from 1978-1981, and Rhonda Rompola, who was a player, assistant coach, and later head coach for the Women’s Basketball Team from 1981-2016.
