CUBETTES WIN ONE AND DROP TWO AT FRAULEIN FEST

While the annual Fraulein Fest Tournament in New Braunfels Tournament started off on a good note, the first day of pool play didn't end the way the Brenham Cubette Volleyball Team wanted.

Brenham opened with a two-set sweep over Katy (25-22 and 25-13). Lillie Thibodeaux led the offense with eight kills. Charli Crowson had seven kills, six digs, and 12 assists. Kristen Kuehn led the defense with 13 digs.

In their second match of the day, the Cubettes lost a hard fought match to San Antonio Clark. Clark won the first set 25-22, Brenham won the second set 25-17, but then Clark took the final set 25-23. Thibodeaux lead the team with ten kills. Antyiahna Lang had eight kills. Crowson did a little of everything. She had six kills, three aces, six digs, and 15 assists. Kuehn finished with four aces and 20 digs. Meanwhile, Sienna Kelm had 12 digs, and Averi Frazier dished out 15 assists.

Brenham dropped the final match of the day to Antonian Prep. The Cubettes won the first set 25-12, but then Antonian took the next two sets 25-20 and 25-22. Thibodeaux and Rylee Sommerlatte each had ten kills. Crowson added nine kills, nine digs, and 19 assists. Kuehn finished with 28 digs. Brooklin Frazier added 15 digs. Averi Frazier dished out 12 assists.

The Fraulein Fest Tournament continues today (Friday) for Brenham with day two of pool play. They will face Clear Creek at 10am, Georgetown at noon, and Arlington at 2pm.

The tournament wraps up with Bracket play tomorrow (Saturday).
