Texas A&M Task Force 1, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Military Department will take part in a joint aviation search and rescue exercise simulating a large-area flooding event.

Participants will be stationed at different locations around the lake and Bryan/College Station.  They will be rescued by helicopter search and rescue technicians applying various methods.

Organizers say the exercise will help the state and first responders prepare for future incidents.
