CITY OF BRENHAM ISSUES $2.16 MILLION IN JULY BUILDING PERMITS
The City of Brenham issued $2,165,844 in building permits for the month of July.
Over half of that came from new residential construction, with 10 new homes permitted for $1,174,841. So far this year, there have been 78 new home permits issued for $12,636,188.
The largest permit of the month went for $279,150 to demolish a garage and perform residential remodeling and additions at a home in the 400 block of West Main Street.
The largest non-residential permit was issued to HDL Research Lab for $174,000, for an interior remodel to add restrooms at their location at 406 West Blue Bell Road.
The city’s 27 permits for $2,165,844 were down from July 2023, which logged 37 permits worth $3,379,539.
So far in 2024, the city has issued 189 permits for $26,287,168. Through July 2023, the city issued 230 permits for $23,895,535.
I would think that with all the new homes being built in Brenham that the Tax rate would go down, I estimate that for each new home Built that an additional tax payment would be around $ 4000, to 10,000 depending on the price and size of the home built. Cannot see why the Brenham tax rate keeps increasing.
