TxDOT TO BEGIN SIGNAL UPDATE MONDAY AT NORTH AUSTIN PARKWAY, MLK PARKWAY
TxDOT will begin a signal replacement project on Monday in Brenham.
The signal update will take place at the intersection of North Austin Parkway and Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.
TxDOT says the project will involve replacing the existing traffic signals and installing pedestrian elements for improved traffic safety.
Drivers should expect daily lane closures while construction is active. They should also plan for extra travel time and exercise caution while traveling through the work zone.
The project is contracted to Larry Young Paving for $560,000 and is anticipated to be completed by this fall.

Will the new signals include protected left turns from MLK onto N. Austin? Brenham has a few intersections which desperately need a protected left turn, such as N. Austin onto Alamo into downtown, Tom Green onto S. Day, and the aforementioned MLK onto N. Austin.
