CUBS FALL AT HOME TO HUNTSVILLE 3-0

Luke Hardy (Melonie Rau)

The Brenham Cub Baseball Team lost a tough game to the Huntsville Hornets 3-0 last (Tuesday) night.

Huntsville scored two runs in the second inning and one run in the fourth inning, and that would be all they needed. Hornet pitcher Van Hardy threw a complete game, two-hit shutout.

Luke Hardy pitched well enough to win, but didn't get any run support. He went six innings, allowing six hits, three runs, only two were earned, walked one, and struck out one.

Hardy and Drake Bentke each had a single, which were the only two Brenham hits in the game. The only other base runners were Landry Mendoza, who drew a pair of walks, and Dalton Hart, who was hit by a pitch.

The Cubs and the Hornets will face off again this Friday night in Huntsville. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm.
