COMCAST BUILDING, JACKSON STREET PARK IMPROVEMENTS LEAD BRENHAM BUILDING PERMITS IN APRIL

  

The City of Brenham issued $6,321,299 in building permits during the month of April.

The top individual permit of $1,300,000 was issued to Comcast Cable Communications Management for the construction of a new 12’ x 20’ pre-fabricated building at 83 Westwood Lane.  Work is contracted to Ironwood Construction.

The next-largest permit of $1,145,690 was a city permit for Jackson Street Park.  The project includes a new playground, pickleball courts, sidewalks, ramps, lighting and a bathroom remodel.  Work is led by DL Meacham Construction. 

Fifteen new homes were permitted in April for $3,015,848.  So far in 2025, 47 new homes have been permitted for $8,298,428.

The city’s 33 permits worth $6,321,299 in April exceed the totals reported from April 2024, which had 20 permits for $1,636,806.

Through the year to date, the city has granted 116 permits for $30,568,779, above the 97 permits for $16,006,899 through this time a year ago.
