CALLS FOR ACCIDENT, VEHICLE FIRE AMONG FOUR RESPONSES BY BRENHAM FD TUESDAY

The Brenham Fire Department responded to four calls on Tuesday.

Just before 8 a.m., units were dispatched to the 1900 block of Highway 290 West for a report of a transportation incident.  They made location to find a two-vehicle accident with no one hurt.  They then cleaned the roadway from debris, returning to service after both vehicles were removed from the roadway.

Around 8:15 a.m., firefighters were called out for an alarm sounding at RR Donnelley, 1903 FM 389.  Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building, and ultimately, they found no signs of smoke or fire.  The department reset the alarm and cleared the scene.

Just shy of 2:30 p.m., a vehicle fire was called in from the 500 block of Highway 290 West.  Upon arrival, BFD members found no smoke or fire coming from the vehicle, but they helped the owner unhook his camper and push his truck away from the camper before returning to the station.

Approaching 11 p.m., units went out to a fire alarm at Prairie Lea Hall, 911 West Fifth Street.  Nothing was showing from the outside of the building, and upon entering, they discovered that the alarm was caused by a resident burning food in the microwave.  They reset the alarm and cleared the call.
