WASHINGTON CO. FAIR LIVESTOCK JUDGING BEGINS WEDNESDAY

  

A day months in the making for Washington County livestock exhibitors is here.

Today (Wednesday) is Show Day at the 157th Washington County Fair, where youth will present their livestock projects for judging.

Following the blessing of the barns at 7:30 a.m., shows open at 8 a.m. with the market barrow, broiler and rabbit shows, as well as the commercial steer contest.  Turkeys will be shown at 9:30 a.m., and the carcass hog luncheon will take place at 11 a.m.  The afternoon shows will be for lambs at 1 p.m., goats at 2:30 p.m. and steers at 4 p.m.

Tonight will be the announcement of the Little and Junior Mister and Miss Contest winners, beginning at 6 p.m.  Mutton bustin’ starts at 6:30 p.m., with bull buck-out at 7:30 p.m.

Featured musicians will be Grupo Zenzio at 8 p.m. and Secretto at 10 p.m.

The fair will also have the Heart of America Carnival, commercial exhibits, country creations, the country store and other entertainment.

KWHI and KTEX-106 will have live reports from the fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 to 6 p.m.

The two stations will have the Wagon Wheel of Prizes open today through Saturday at the fair.  All spins will raise money for Gather ‘n Grace and its Monday Family Dinner program.
