REGISTRATION OPENS MONDAY FOR DOWNTOWN BRENHAM SCARECROW EXTRAVAGANZA

  

As fall draws closer, downtown Brenham is getting ready for one of the season’s most beloved traditions.

Main Street Brenham’s 23^rd Annual Scarecrow Extravaganza will allow community members, schools, clubs and organizations to help decorate downtown with colorful scarecrows and have the chance to win cash prizes.

Approximately $1,350 in cash prizes will be awarded across nine categories, including the Best Overall prize of $300 sponsored by Kelli Dozier State Farm Insurance.  Other prizes include:

• Most Votes for $200, sponsored by BT Longhorn;
• Judges’ Choice for $200, sponsored by KTEX/KWHI;
• Best Fall Theme for $150, sponsored by Hermann Furniture;
• Most Creative for $125, sponsored by Rustic Ruby;
• Most Educational for $125, sponsored by Christy Schlottmann Farmer’s Insurance Agent;
• Silliest for $125, sponsored by Bluebonnet Abstract & Title;
• Cutest for $125, sponsored by the Brenham Banner-Press.

Online registration opens on Monday at https://downtownbrenham.com/scarecrows and runs through September 11^th. 

Scarecrows can be set up in downtown starting on September 24^th and must be complete by September 28^th.

Voting will be available from September 30^th to October 22^nd.  Maps and ballot boxes can be found at downtown sponsor locations.  The winners will be announced on October 26^th.
