WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO APPROVE BOND, SALARY FOR NEW ELECTIONS ADMINISTRATOR

Washington County Commissioners will acknowledge the appointment of a new county elections administrator when they meet on Tuesday.

Upon acknowledgement of the Washington County Elections Commission’s appointment of Jennifer Gajeske to the position, the court will vote on approving her official bond and approving her salary for a pay rate exceeding the 6 percent allowable amount, in accordance with county policy.

Gajeske is being appointed to fill the position previously held by Carol Jackson, who retired at the end of July.  Gajeske has been serving as the elections administrator clerk.

Also on Tuesday, commissioners will:

  • Take up a ground ambulance transportation addendum to the air medical transportation services preferred provider agreement with Baylor Scott & White Medical Center of Brenham for non-emergent transports, being added to the March 24, 2020 agreement. The addendum states that the county will provide ground ambulance transportation services to and from Baylor Scott & White Medical Center and another facility for inpatients to receive testing or other medical procedures that are not available in Brenham.  Baylor Scott & White will pay the county transport fees and will not request ground ambulance services outside of the City of Brenham.
  • Consider approval of the 2026 Scarecrow Music Festival right-of-way and mass gathering permit applications.
  • Read a proclamation recognizing the month of September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in Washington County and supporting the Color Brazos Valley Gold initiative.
  • Act on the list and order of appointments for election judges, alternates, central counting station manager, tabulation supervisor and tabulation assistants.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
