NAVASOTA ISD: FIRST GRADE STUDENT THREATENS CLASSMATE WITH KNIFE
A first grade student in Navasota ISD reportedly threatened another student at school with a knife.
According to a letter sent to parents on Thursday by Navasota ISD Superintendent Dr. Stu Musick, the student at John C. Webb Elementary School brought a “mini keychain knife” to school and threatened a classmate.
Dr. Musick said, “We take situations involving threats and weapons very seriously. Appropriate school procedures were followed, and we are continuing to address the incident in accordance with district and campus disciplinary policies.”
The district said it cannot disclose specific disciplinary actions taken against the student, citing federal privacy laws.
Dr. Musick urged parents to talk with their children about the seriousness of bringing any weapon to school or making threats, and the importance of immediately reporting concerns to a trusted adult.
