55TH ANNUAL COW-CALF CLINIC FRIDAY AT WASHINGTON CO. EXPO

The 55th Annual South Central Texas Cow-Calf Clinic is coming this Friday to the Washington County Expo Sales Facility.

Extension Agent Kyle Despain says the clinic will offer attendees the ability to hear from experts on a variety of topics affecting cattle producers.

Friday’s event gets underway with registration at 7:30 a.m., with the program running from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Despain says the featured speakers for the clinic will share insights on pasture management, cattle crime, identification, and the negative effects of the pasture mealybug.

Guests will be treated to a catered barbecue lunch and an afternoon social with beer-battered beef tips, and they will be able to participate in contests and a scholarship drawing.  There will also be door prize giveaways.  Additionally, Texas Farm Credit is sponsoring a grand prize drawing for $1,500 worth of beef.

The program is organized by the county extension agents and beef and forage committees of Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Colorado, Fayette, Grimes, Lee, Waller and Washington counties.

Early registration closes tomorrow (Wednesday) at $40 per person.  Late registration will be $50 per person at the door.  Registration is available online through the link here.

More information on the Cow Calf Clinic can be heard from this (Tuesday) morning’s edition of the KWHI Community Corner.
