HEAVY RAIN WILL AFFECT COLORADO RIVER FOR DAYS TO COME

  

According to the Lower Colorado River Authority, downstream of Austin, flood waters from creeks in Travis and Bastrop counties will cause the Colorado River to rise significantly over the next several days.

At Bastrop, the Colorado River has exceeded Major Flood Stage, and is expected to peak later today.

At Smithville, the Colorado River has exceeded Flood Stage and continues to rise.

Rain bands are moving to the east from Bastrop County towards Fayette and Colorado counties.
