“TORTOISE & HARE” TO BE PERFORMED ON CHAPPELL HILL HISTORICAL STAGE

  

The Chappell Hill Historical Society has partnered with Gibbous Moon Productions to host the first theatrical production in over twenty years at the Museum’s newly refurbished stage.

The “Tortoise & Hare” by Allen Robertson and Damon Brown will be performed September 15th through the 17th. Bob Davis, the President of Chappell Hill Historical Society, says they are excited about the opportunity to partner with the newly formed theatre production company.  Davis says it is a great opportunity to showcase the beauty of the historic stage.

Troy Freemon, the Founder of Gibbous Moon Productions, says this version of “Tortoise & Hare” is based on the classic fable, but has a modern twist. Evening performances are scheduled for September 15th through the 17th at 7:30 p.m. A matinee performance is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 17th. All performance will take place at the Chappell Hill Historical Society Museum, located at 9220 Poplar Street.

Tickets are $5.00 for adults and “Tortoise” tickets (children 12 & under) are $1.00.  Tickets are available by calling the Historical Museum office at 979-836-6033. Theatre-goers can also purchase tickets at the Washington County Visitors Bureau office in Brenham.
