AAA TEXAS TO OFFER ‘TIPSY TOW’ THIS NEW YEAR’S

  

AAA Texas is offering their “Tipsy Tow” service again this year.

Linda von Quintus, AAA Vice President of Government and Community Affairs, says as a last resort they offer Tipsy Tow on New Year's Eve so intoxicated drivers don't kill or injure themselves or others.

The free tow is for one driver and their vehicle up to 10 miles. For rides farther than 10 miles, drivers can will have to pay the rate charged by the tow truck contractor. The passenger and tow truck driver should agree in advance what the excess mileage charges will be and the method of payment.

The community service is available from 6pm on New Year's Eve through 6am on Sunday, New Year's Day.

Quintus says tragedies as a result of drinking and driving are entirely preventable if people plan ahead before you celebrate with family and friends.
