A member of the Texas A&M football team has been arrested for an alleged assault.

According to College Station police, Derrick Tucker was arrested Thursday for an alleged assault that occurred in March at a Northgate parking lot.

Police are reporting that Tucker got into a fight with another man due to an argument over tacos.

Police say Tucker originally left the scene, but then he returned and struck the victim in the back of the head, while the alleged victim’s back was turned.

Police say multiple witnesses identified Tucker, a junior defensive back from Manvel, Texas.

Tucker was booked into the Brazos County jail, Thursday. He was released on a $5,000 bond.

A&M officials say they are “aware of the situation” and “will continue to gather details.”

  1. A sucker punch? Really? I expect the appropriatete punishment will be doled out.

  2. Off the team. That kind of behavior cannot be tolerated. If Jimbo keeps him, I’m not going to a single game during his tenure.
