ANOTHER ROUND OF SEVERE WINTER WEATHER COMING

Another round of severe winter weather is on its way to Brenham, Washington County and the Brazos Valley.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch for tonight (Monday) through Tuesday afternoon.

The alert is for Washington, Brazos, Burleson, Colorado, Grimes, Montgomery, and Waller Counties among many others.

The front will begin coming in this (Monday) morning bringing some rain to the area,  The Weather Service says temperatures will begin dropping from the mid-50s to the lower 40s.  They say to expect gusty northerly winds throughout the afternoon.

Tuesday morning will see temperatures in the upper 20s and highs only in the low 30s Tuesday afternoon.

The Weather Service predicts a hard freeze in the middle of the week.

Bob Colwell of the Bryan office of the Texas Department of Transportation says they are ready again for the worst.  Colwell says TxDot is prepared for the weather but is asking the public to slow down and be safe.

TxDot recommends reducing speed, maintain at least three times or more the normal following distance on snow or ice.

Watch carefully for TxDot equipment and stay at least 400 feet back from the vehicle.

Use extra caution on bridges, ramps, overpasses and shaded areas as they tend to freeze first.

  1. Absolutely be safe!!! Now if you can’t stand our cold weather, think of those poor folks up north. My sister called me from Cleveland, Ohio! High temperature today??? -3 degrees!!! That’s 3 degrees below zero!!!

Kudo’s to MotherHood … hot chocolate and hotter chili??? You rock, mom!!!

  2. Re-wrapping pipes, preparing the backyard and trampoline for the kids-should we get some snow this time, and heading to the store later to stock up on hot cocoa fixings, cooking a big pot of chili tonight!
