BRENHAM PD RAISING MONEY FOR CHARITY WITH “NO SHAVE NOVEMBER” FUNDRAISER
Members of the Brenham Police Department may start looking a little hairier than normal next month, but the extra hair is all in the name of charity.
As part of “No Shave November,” the department is once again participating in a no shave fundraiser for Adam’s Angels Ministry, which provides support for families fighting childhood cancer. Police officers will be allowed to have facial hair from November 1-30 if they make a $50 donation to the cause.
This year, Brenham Police Chief Ron Parker has added a twist to the fundraiser, allowing female officers to have ponytails and colorful fingernails if they wish.
Last year, the department raised $2,787 through donations and officer sponsorships. The total was matched by local attorney Robbie Gail Charette, raising a total of $5,574 for Adam’s Angels.
Citizens and businesses are encouraged to participate in the fundraiser by sponsoring an officer or donating. Those interested in sponsoring an officer can make out a check to Adam’s Angels in the amount they wish to donate and place the officer’s name in the memo line.
Businesses that cannot donate to a non-profit can make the donation out to the Brenham Police Department, but they are asked to specify that the donation is for the no shave fundraiser.
