BRENHAM VFW TO COMMEMORATE PEARL HARBOR DAY WITH CEREMONY SATURDAY

James F. Dillon VFW Post 7104 in Brenham will commemorate the anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day tomorrow (Saturday) with a special ceremony.

The public is invited to the ceremony from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Brenham VFW Post, at 1200 East Tom Green Street.  A special invitation is extended to all World War II veterans and their families.  A light meal and snacks will be provided.

Tomorrow marks the 78th anniversary of the surprise attack by the Japanese on Pearl Harbor, a U.S. naval base in Hawaii.  Over 2,400 U.S. service members and civilians were killed in the attack, which prompted the U.S. to enter World War II.

Guests are asked to call the post at 979-830-8776, press “5”, and leave a name and number of people attending so the post knows what to prepare for the meal.  They are also asked to indicate if they are a World War II veteran in need of transportation.
