BUILDING PERMIT VALUES UP FOR 2015
Building in the City of Brenham was up over $4-million for the year just passed.
In 2015, a total of 330 permits were issued, for a total value of $33,010,128—that’s an increase of $4.2-million over the 2014 total of 370 permits worth $28,975,367.
New commercial permits led the way in 2015, with 53 permits issued at a value of $13,733,731 – a $2.5-million increase over last year.
New residences took a tumble, with 57 permits issued in 2015 worth $6,453.793 – compared to 83 permits issued in 2014, for $8,593,084.
Commercial additions were drastically up with 27 permits issued for $5,159,035 in 2015, while in 2014 just 12 permits were issued for $231,181. Among the commercial additions in 2015 was a $4-million project at Citizen’s State Bank.
For the month of December, 29 permits were issued for a total of $1,356,550. In December of last year, 17 permits were issued for $4,021,288.
