BURTON ISD TO SHIFT TO REMOTE LEARNING THROUGH NOVEMBER 30TH

In-person classes in Burton ISD have been cancelled through Thanksgiving break.

Burton ISD announced this (Tuesday) morning that remote instruction for all students will begin tomorrow (Wednesday) and continue through next Friday, November 20th, when students break for Thanksgiving.  Students will not return to campus until Monday, November 30th.

This comes after all classes were cancelled today after COVID-19 exposures were reported.  When asked how many students or staff members were exposed and if any tested positive, Superintendent Dr. Edna Kennedy said, “We are still working through that information.”

Chromebook and Wi-Fi hotspot pickup for all grade levels will be held today and tomorrow at the Burton Elementary School campus.  Pickup today will run through 6 p.m., while pickup tomorrow will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Hotspots are available on a first come, first served basis.

All classwork will be assigned online through Google Classroom.  Anyone with questions in regards to their students’ classroom assignments is asked to email their teachers.
