CITY OF BRENHAM APPOINTS PATRICIA GRUNER ASSOCIATE MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE
The Brenham City Council has appointed a new associate municipal court judge.
Following executive session Thursday, the council voted to appoint Patricia Gruner as the associate municipal judge. Gruner currently serves as the presiding municipal judge for the City of Navasota.
The appointment follows the council’s unanimous vote in October to remove previous presiding judge Bill Kendall from his position. City officials have not commented on the reasoning for Kendall’s removal, citing personnel issues.
City Manager James Fisher said Gruner’s services should greatly help Judge Robert Wright, who has had an increased workload since Kendall’s removal.
Also in executive session Thursday, the council discussed real property regarding the Barnhill Center at the Historic Simon Theater. No action was taken on the matter.
