DOZEN INMATES INDICTED FOR JUNE UPRISING AT WASHINGTON CO. JAIL

Twelve inmates at the Washington County Jail have been indicted on charges stemming from an incident that occurred back in June.

The inmates are accused of facilitating an escape from their assigned cell block into a restricted hallway.

During the course of the noon meal, a jailer was retrieving food trays when he was reportedly rushed by the 12 inmates at their cell door.

According to Sheriff Otto Hanak, the inmates ignored commands given by the jailer and one inmate shoved the jailer in the chest.  Additionally, the fire alarm was activated by an inmate which resulted in a response from the fire department and multiple first responders.

Once the situation was under control, the inmates told Hanak that they were upset about their classification status and housing assignments, which the sheriff says is a normal procedure while in custody.

Indicted for Riot Participation, a second degree felony, were: Christopher Deon Bazile, Keatron O’Brian Bimage, Anthony Wayne Burns, Jr., Jevon Levelle Coleman, Michael Dixon, Kevin Wayne Ealey, Jr., Jordan Alexander Graves, Randell Lee Harvey, Jr., Trenton Dewayne Howard, Deperrion Dwayne Lott, Zachary Charles Moerbe, and Damien Rios.

Their bond has been set at $150,000 each.  All remain in the Washington County Jail with the exception of Moerbe who has since been transferred to TDCJ on an unrelated conviction.

  1. Don’t judge the book by it’s cover! We all makes bad decision in our lifetime….I BELIEVE IN GIVING…. THE PROPER IDEAS OF FINDING STUCTURE IN A FACILITY TOO EDUCATED WITH PROGRAMS INSIDE WHILE BEING LOCK DOWN… FOR ALL WHOM NEED A BETTER MIND SETTING WHILE BEING MENTALLY CHALLENGE IN A SLAVERY TYPE OF SETTING WHERE ALL THEY DO IS SLEEP..EAT…WHILE WAITING FOR THE JUSTICE SYSTEM TOO DECIDE THERE FATE! GOD IS REAL…I BELIEVE THE SPIRIT ONLY HAVE THAT RIGHT TOO JUDGE!

  2. All of these people are in jail due to misbehavior on the “outside”. All they deserve is a place to sleep and food and water. I agree with Derr Kluge. You should not be comfortable! Get your life together and then you have the right to complain.

  3. Life is all about choices. These men’s choices got them there in the first place. Nobody else was at fault. More bad choices got them into this situation. Again, only themselves to blame. If they need to file complaints, there are right ways to do it.

  4. LORD come too this Washington County…. Asap…Prayers needed for my son being that this incident DON’T SOUNDS AS A BREAK OUT! A CORRUPT JAIL WITH PROBLEMS! ON THE INSIDE THAT RIGHTS BEING VIOLATED!

    1. You’re so clever, please explain the connection between your comment and the inmates’ complaint?
