LEE CO. CONFIRMS FIRST TWO CASES OF COVID-19

Lee County has confirmed its first two positive cases of COVID-19.

Wednesday afternoon, Lee County officials received notification from local health authorities of the first two confirmed COVID-19 cases.

The county says, due to HIPAA regulations, it cannot provide additional information on the patients at this time.  Lee County emergency management officials did say that the first patient has been under self-quarantine since being tested, but it is not known if that patient made contact with anyone before being tested.

Emergency management officials say they are awaiting the results of investigation from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), and will provide more information when the department’s investigation is complete.

Wednesday, Lee County Judge Paul Fischer issued a stay-at-home order for all people living in Lee County who have tested positive for COVID-19, suspected positive individuals, those being tested, and their household members.  The order also requires all non-essential businesses and operations, as outlined in Governor Greg Abbott’s executive order Tuesday, to cease all activities.

Amidst rumors of curfews, Fischer stated the county does not have a curfew, and that Abbott’s order did not impose one.
