MUDDY FIELD SLOWS GRASS FIRE FIGHT
Brenham and Salem firefighters ran into a muddy field when they tried to get to a grass fire on Highway 36 South near the Brenham State Supported Living Center this (Wednesday) afternoon.
Reports from the Brenham Fire Department say they were called to a vehicle fire just before four in the afternoon, but as they approached the scene, the vehicle fire had turned into a spreading grass fire. The needed to call in a booster truck in order to quell the blaze because of the muddy field. They were especially concerned because the fire was spreading in the area of a gas well.
