AUSTIN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE WARN OF MORE SCAMS

  

The Austin County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous phone calls regarding various scams.

Be aware of phone calls requesting money. Government and Law Enforcement agencies will not call asking for money, they will do this by mail.

Be cautious of people requesting large amounts of money be sent using pre-paid money cards.

Be advised that scammers can obtain your personal information from the internet and may contact you by phone, pretending to know you or members of your family’s names.

Be very cautious when talking to these people. It is most likely it is a scam.
