THE LOVIN’ SPOONFUL COMING TO THE BARNHILL CENTER

  

A legendary rock band has scheduled an upcoming performance in Brenham.

The Lovin’ Spoonful, often referred to as “America’s Beatles,” will perform at The Barnhill Center at 7pm on Saturday, August 8th.

Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000, The Lovin’ Spoonful were honored for their lasting influence on the music industry.

TBC Producer Sharon Brass said, “You’ll sing along to every song. Even days later, you can’t get some of the songs out of your head!”

At the height of their fame, The Lovin’ Spoonful were challenging the British Invasion with an astonishing and unrivaled string of hits. Their first seven singles landed on Billboard’s Top 10 charts virtually overnight. 

Their first single, Do You Believe in Magic, flew to the top of the charts. It was soon followed by Daydream, Summer in the City, Darling Be Home Soon, Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind, You Didn’t Have to Be So Nice, Nashville Cats, Coconut Grove, Younger Girl and many more.

Today founding member, Steve Boone, tours with his world-class band. Together they celebrate the rich, good-time hits that made them one of the world’s most beloved groups of the mid-to-late Twentieth Century.
