BIG RIG WRECK CLOSES PART OF I10 THURSDAY

  

A portion of Interstate 10 was shut down today (Thursday) after an 18 wheel gravel truck overturned on a bridge in Fayette County. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reports that the big rig overturned on railroad overpass near mile marker 678 on I10 this (Thursday) morning at 10:50.

Officers arrived at the scene to find the gravel truck fully engulfed in flames. The Schulenburg Fire Department was able to quickly extinguish the fire. The east bound lanes of I 10 were closed until 3:30 with traffic being diverted onto Highway 90. Although the truck and trailer were a total loss, the driver reportedly escaped without injury.
